Pardon me for intruding on your community, here, but I'm going nuts. I am not a linguist, and Babelfish is now the bad word in my home....
Would anyone mind, please, giving me the native characters and English-phonetic translations for the following: "is" "means" "symbol" ...in Greek, Aramaic, Arabic and Hebrew (separately and annotated, if you don't mind). Could you also, please, tell me if these words are ever used in place of one another in their original tongues, or do they each carry the same distinct meaning as they do in English? Thanks so very much--sorry to crash your party....I knew I should have taken languages in school... In His Grace, miki |
